Interviewing ICE CUBE - “It Was A Good Day”
Wednesday 08/18/2010 9:12 PM

Today I had the unique opportunity of interviewing the iconic Ice Cube for the second time this summer.
Here I am with Cube in May:

We talked about his new film, “The Lottery Ticket” starring Bow Wow, in which he plays the older wise man in the neighborhood (he revealed to me that his performance was inspired by his “Yoda” father). The movie, for which Cube also serves at Executive Producer, exhibits a new side of the rapper-turned-actor, proving once again that Ice Cube can successfully wear many hats…actually, he literally dons a knit cap throughout the movie as well. I apologize in advance for my persistent use of puns. Damn it. Anyway, Cube pointed out the many parallels the film shares with “Friday”, and how he hopes “The Lottery Ticket” can serve as a “Friday”-esque film for a new generation.
.
In addition to promoting his film, Cube has his album “I Am That West” coming out next month. We discussed what inspired the music, why Dre wasn’t on the album, and what it’s like touring with Snoop these days.
Make sure to tune into Fuse this Friday at 5pm for the full interview. In the meantime, here are some photos of today’s hang with Cube…and yes “It WAS a Good Day”.

Festival Noize: Coachella, Lollapalooza Announce 2011 Dates
Posted on Wednesday August 11, 2010 at 03:01 PM
The headline says it all as two of the biggest multi-day music festivals announce dates for next year. Plus, you can relive all the thrills, glory and music from this year’s Lollapalooza Friday night on Fuse.
It’s probably a little early to expect any lineup announcement for next year’sCoachella and Lollapalooza festivals. However, organizers for both yearly events have locked down dates.
Next year’s Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival is set for April 15-17 at the usual place, namely the Empire Polo Club in Indio, Calif.
Evidently the folks behind Lollapalooza know a good location is hard to find. The festival returns to Chicago’s Grant Park Aug. 5-7, 2011.
Speaking of Lollapalooza, on Friday night music cable channel Fuse will debut a one hour special dedicated to this year’s festival. Hosted by Allison Hagendorf and Juliya, “Lollapalooza 2010” takes you backstage for interviews with several performers, including MGMT, Perry Farrell and Cypress Hill. You also get B.o.B.’s take on the festival as well as an exclusive acoustic performance by Phoenix. “Lollapalooza 2010” airs Aug. 13 at 8 p.m. EDT.
