Hosting the Burger Bloodbath

It’s a hard job, but somebody’s gotta do it…and eat it. #CarnivoreQueen

I had the delicious duty of hosting the fifth annual Burger Bloodbath yesterday at the Gilt City House in Bridgehampton. Called “an epic battle for the title of BEST BEACH BURGER on the east end,” chefs including Michael White, William Tigertt (Freemans), Marc Vidal (Boqueria) (who WOWED me with his chorizo burger), and Wylie Dufresne (WD~50) who in my opinion, made the best burger of the day. His custom Pat LaFrieda meat blend included seaweed and milk powder. It was hands down (and hands on) the best textured burger I’ve ever eaten…and I’ve eaten A LOT of burgers. 2010 defending champion Mo Koyfman took the cake (er burger title) by winning for the THIRD year in a row with his classic lettuce, tomato, pickle and special-sauce-topped burger. What an incredibly fun (and filling) day it was. Life’s a beach…burger.
