Burger Queen of the Lean, Clean Burger. I Got You.

You all know I’m a beast when it comes to burgers. I fly to Miami each February to eat a record-breaking amount of burgers at the South Beach Wine & Food Festival‘s Burger Bash, and I practically wipe out the buffalo burger supply at Sundance in Park City each January. However, when I make my own burgers they are #lean #clean & #Paleo. I also make my own #Dieseldorf barbecue sauce from scratch. No sugar. All flavor. Feast your eyes on my smokey barbecue jalapeño mushroom turkey burger with caramelized onions wrapped in butter lettuce.

The scoop on my sauce:

  • unsweetened ketchup or tomato paste
  • worcestershire sauce
  • balsamic vinegar
  • white wine vinegar
  • apple cider vinegar
  • unsweetened applesauce
  • liquid smoke
  • liquid aminos
  • dijon mustard
  • lime juice
  • seasoning: smoked paprika, chipotle chili pepper, ginger, cinnamon, brown mustard seeds, allspice, cloves, onion, garlic, black pepper aka whatever you have in your cabinet…except for salt. I always leave that out. I leave my salt for when it’s really needed….like in a salted caramel sundae #Priorities
